SEPAC

Special Education Parent Advisory Committee

Northwest Education Services' Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC) is composed of a group of parents with current students with disabilities from Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska and Leelanau counties school districts. Together, this group works to provide a supportive environment for students, families and educators that will help each student achieve their potential.

Families often find their greatest support in other families who are in a similar situation. SEPAC members work as a resource for others who are unfamiliar with regional services or are looking for information that might support the special needs of their child. SEPAC sponsors regular meetings where parents can learn from each other, gain awareness on pertinent issues, and find opportunities that will help build positive relationships with schools and community. Any SEPAC member will tell you, “We can’t promise to have all the answers, but we are willing to work with you to help find the answers you need to make your child’s educational experience the best it can be.”
